Our Executive Team

Jeff Adams

Founder & CEO

Jeff Adams has been leading prominent speech & language technology research for more than 20 years. Until 2009, he worked at Nuance / Dragon where he was responsible for developing and improving speech recognition for Nuance’s “Dragon” dictation software. He presided over many of the critical improvements in the 1990s

Scott Earnshaw

General Counsel

Scott brings over 15 years of experience as an attorney for tech startups, and substantial experience dealing in new technologies. His professional focus has been on patent licensing, and internet and emerging energy technologies. He has worked with sports leagues, financial services, and mergers and acquisitions

Steve Pappas

Strategy Officer

Steve Pappas has recently joined Cobalt having just exited his former company after its acquisition and integration. Steve brings over 25 years of business experience in growing businesses. Steve is very passionate about all things, ‘customer’ and has recently finished two new books on Customer experience.

Alok Parlikar

VP, Research & Development

Alok is a senior research scientist at Cobalt. Prior to Cobalt, Alok was a machine learning scientist in Amazon’s speech group and worked on language modeling and system development, including error analysis, for the Echo, the Dash, the Fire TV and the Mobile Shopping App. Alok also worked on pronunciation modeling in speech recognition

Stan Salvador

Chief Scientist

Stan is the Chief Scientist at Cobalt and takes a lead role in the technical approach on Cobalt projects. Prior to Cobalt, Stan was a key speech scientist at Amazon, and contributed directly to acoustic modeling on the Echo as well as other Amazon speech projects. He also worked in machine learning applications at Yap, NASA

Bill Livingston

VP, Government Technology

Bill has over 25 years of experience applying leading-edge speech technology to real-world applications. At Cobalt, Bill is leading the effort to apply Cobalt’s core technology to Government applications. Prior to joining Cobalt, Bill held several leadership positions in speech technology
